Cornwall Anime Launceston Launch Night - March 10, 2010

Postby Jade » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:58 pm

Cornwall Anime will be holding its Launceston Launch Night at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 10 at M-Mad (http://www.m-mad.co.uk/). We will be screening Howl's Moving Castle and the first episode of Excel Saga.

M-Mad has a large screen, professional sound system and projector hooked up. There is plenty of seating including comfy sofas.

M-Mad is located on Priory Lane just off St Thomas' Road. Priory Lane is opposite the Railway Inn and M-Mad is the first door on the left. You can park for free at Co-op on Newport Industrial Estate.

We are allowed to bring food in so you might want to stock up at Co-op or buy fish and chips from The Codfather. Keep It Secret (http://www.keep-it-secret.co.uk/) will have a stall so you will have the chance to purchase Japanese snacks to munch while you watch or take away. We will also have a stall for you to buy and sell your old anime, manga, figures and games.

People are coming from Plymouth and many different areas of Cornwall. If you would like to lift share, ask in this thread.

Please post below to suggest anime to screen. Howl's Moving Castle and Shaman King have already been proposed. We need to decide asap what we're showing so that we can advertise this properly.

You are asked to make a contribution of £3 to help cover the cost of the room.

Well i'm glad to hear your finally able to hold meets. :D

I'd come along and support it but as it's midweek (and me lacking transport of my own) i doubt i'll be there.

Hope it all goes well though.

As ever i'm happy to support your growth, but atm that's not likely to include attending meetings. :?

Thanks for the good wishes :)

Apparently Shaman King's subtitles are dodgy so we need to decide on a different series. Frankii has nominated Excel Saga; anyone got any thoughts?

If we show Howl's Moving Castle as our film it's pretty long (2 hours) so we'd only really have time to show one episode of whatever. Are people in favour of HMC or would anyone like to propose something different?

Here's the poster. If you're willing to put a few up at work, school, in shops, etc please download the PDF: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I158RA94. Sorry it's chopping the right hand side off here; it doesn't on the PDF!
